Did you know Texel is the biggest Wadden Island of The Netherlands? It’s a very old island as the first traces of hunters and gatherers date back to around 5000 BC. On the island's northern tip, the 19th-century Lighthouse offers panoramic views of the North Sea. The waters around the island were so dangerous that many ships sank before the lighthouse was finally built.

We stopped in on Gisa of Golden Blumen und Wohnen and spoke to her about how she incorporates flowers and plants in her style in interior design. What immediately stands out in the store is the eclectic style, a little bit vintage and retro, matched with contemporary designs. Gisa has a soft spot for the mini plants, like succulents and mini Anthurium. She compares them to a puppy, because it’s naturally “cute”. In the city, most people don’t have a lot of space in their homes, so this cute little plant is perfect for mixing and matching in smaller interiors.
